When you launch the UTS Desktop Companion first time you will be offered to select a database for storing your data.
You may use UTS Desktop Companion in two modes:
1. As a standalone application.
You may keep your data in a file on your local or network disk.
In that case, just specify the .XML filename on your hard disk for storing your data.
2. As a desktop companion for UTS for Palm OS PDA software.
You may keep your data synchronized with your PDA and manage them both on PC (through the UTS Desktop Companion) and on PDA device (through the UTS for Palm OS PDA software).
In that case, choose the Palm user that has UTS for Palm OS software installed on his\her PDA. The database file will be created in the user's folder and the data will be synchronized with PDA each time you run HotSync.
To initially load the available data from PDA into UTS Desktop Companion you must change UTS conduit synchronization to "Handheld overwrites PC" and do HotSync before running UTSDC.
